Is it possible to make Barium Peroxide from Barium Nitrate.
I can make Barium Oxide by the Barium Nitrate to decomposition.
The question is how do I make Barium Peroxide from Barium Oxide. I have 3% H2O2, but can get some 30% if needed.
Thanks.
Hydrated peroxide can be easily produced by adding 30% hydrogen peroxide to fairly concentrated barium nitrate solution. It has low solubility in cold
water (~0.1) and can be easily separated by filtration. Anhydrous peroxide may be obtained by heating - it looses 8 molecules of it's crystalline
water at ~100C.
