A tertiery alcohol is an alcohol which has the hydroxyl group connected to a tertiary carbon atom.
Examples of primary alcohols include: chlorobutanol, tert-amyl alcohol, tert-butanol.
Properties
Tertiary alcohols cannot be oxidized like primary or secondary alcohols.
