Anion exchange resin

I have a question for someone who knows about ion exchange resins. I have an strong anion exchange resin in the OH- form, if I place some into a aqueous solution containing several anions while it selectively absorb some anions in preference to others?

My thinking on this issue is that it will absorb the anions from strong acids first because they exist largely as free chloride or nitrate ions say where as say acetate ions exist in equilibrium with acetic acid and hydroxyl ion.

Are polyvalent ions like sulphate more or less strongly absorbed that univalent anions?
