melting point behavior

I recently tested for the melting point of inositol. The sample melted at 225C as it was supposed to. After removing the sample tube it recrystallized quickly. I put it back in the apparatus (Thomas melting point app) just to make sure I didn't miss some unmelted crystals. It wouldn't remelt even up to 260.

I then took another tube and put more of the sample in it and it all melted at 225.

I'm wondering what happened to the 1st sample and is this normal?
