Method of Nagai and Kanao questions

I hope this is the right place for my question I don't want to offend anyone with my noobness. Regarding the part
(the organic layer was washed with sodium bisulfite solution)
So my first question is how much solution is required?
My 2nd question Is the sodium bisulfite solution a saturated solution or do the
solution contain a certain percent of sodium bisulfite ?

Also where I am located it seems hard to find sodium bisulfite . I ordered some
but they sent me sodium metabisulfite . I have come across a reference that says that Sodium bisulfite is simply sodium metabisulfite in solution. If this is true my 3rd question is how much sodium metabisulfite in water do i need for the Nagai and Kanao method.

Any help would be much appreciated.
PS sorry for my bad Engish it is not my native language.

It's your first post on the site and you appear to be asking how to make ephedrine. Whatever would you need that for?
