perchlorates in the eu?
there was a site in which you could buy KClO4 its pyrohub.com but its closed now.
same for pyrohobby.ru. i’ve looked everywhere and a polish site sells it but they want a company registration. anyone knows where can i buy it? it

I think all chlorates have been banned for ‘individuals’ in the EU.
But it’s not difficult to make sodium chlorate from bleach, and from then perchlorate.

In the EU, the sale of sodium perchlorate and potassium perchlorate to private individuals is forbidden. You still can get ammonium perchlorate and
perchloric acid, but these are much more expensive. If you have them, then it is not difficult to make KClO4 from these, although it definitely needs
to be recrystallized twice to get rid of ammonium or acidity. This is OK if you just want to do some small scale experiments, but use in pyrotechnics
is way too expensive with these chemicals (especially perchloric acid is way too expensive for that purpose).
Indeed, try to make perchlorates yourself. You can use an MMO electrode for making a solution of sodium chlorate from table salt, and then you can use
a PbO2 electrode to make perchlorate. It certainly can be done at home. It requires some investment, but once you have made the investment, you can
make as much as you like.
If you are in the EU, then you can have a look at this seller on eBay: https://www.ebay.nl/usr/feanor.forges
I have good experiences with this guy. High quality material, I have both the PbO2 and MMO anodes from him. Don't buy from AliExpress, I once bought a
so-called platinized anode, but the thing was fake. Its coating simply dissolved, as soon as I applied a voltage on it, it never produced a gram of
perchlorate.

I also must warn about fake anodes on auctionsites.
I bought an Platinum anode from china that was indeed fake.
But there are good anodes to be found and they usually cost quite a bit more, just look at seller feedback to see if customers were happy with the
purchase.
No feedback = dont buy.
One can check for platinum by applying a drop of H2O2 and see if it produces bubbles.
This test just tells if there are platinum, not how thick the layer is.

I just checked Woelen’s eBay link and this same seller also advertises on eBay.com in the US. This is worth remembering or bookmarking.

The seller (Feanor Forges) also has a YouTube channel where he shows how to make the electrodes and use them to make ammonium perchlorate.

I had to go down the journey of making chlorates on my own and it has been a fulfilling experience. Making potassium chlorate has been a challenge,
and my yields are not the best, but I was ultimately successful!
That being said, I am also looking to make ammonium perchlorate. My planned method is to do it via perchloric acid neutralization with ammonium
carbonate.
My main concern is extracting the pure ammonium perchlorate without causing it to decompose. Since neutralizing perchloric acid with a carbonate will
result in a perchlorate, carbon dioxide, and water, and it is so incredibly easy to get rid of excess ammonium carbonate by boiling, I can safely add
an excess of ammonium carbonate and then add further water before boiling everything down until ammonia stops being made.
The problem is I am worried about what temperature I need to dry it and evaporate the water at without endangering my ammonium perchlorate. Would
putting it in a baking dish in the oven at 80 to 100C be safe, or is there danger?
