How do you get a seal to 900C? This is much for an amateur setup! What is going through, what is the seal made of? Depending on usage you might go with ceramic wool, or graphite powder

still want to try steam cracking of naphta to get benzene uh.
at 900°C steam burns steel (oxidizes it quite rapidly).
again i suggest you to give up, if you want just to get benzene from a cheap source pick PET bottles from the streets, they are free, add calcium hydroxide or sodium hydroxide and heat it (not to 900°C...). still high temperatures as you like, but not a bomb anymore

I guess a metal to metal seal. But at 900C you probably need an exotic metal alloy like Inconel which will be expensive.

If you search for high temperature check valve you will find various examples.

I am wg48 but not on my usual pc hence the temp handle.

How are you getting steam to 900C unless you're superheating under absurd pressure?

steam can get to 900°C even at atmospheric pressure, just heat it.
