How can I synthesise 2-methyl-4chlorophenol?
I need to synthesise MCPA. For that I have managed to synthesis Chloro acetic acid. I can't figure out exactly how to make 2-methyl-4chlorophenol. Can
anyone help? Thank you!

You can try chlorinating 2-methylphenol (aka o-cresol). This will produce a mixture of the 4-chloro and 6-chloro products, which should be separable.
But why not just buy MCPA? It's widely available as an herbicide.
