How can i make hydrazine without MEK. I was reading something aboute gelatine but i didnĀ“t understood why gelatine is used.

Gelatin helps control foaming, I think. Have you read the stickied hydrazine thread (under Chemistry in General)? I believe that it is explained in there.

Internet to the rescue [CLICK]. Gelatin chelates the metal ions which otherwise would interfere with the reaction, same with EDTA. Read.
