Complexes reactions (2 Fe Ones)

In the past, I ran into two reactions involving complexes with Iron double salts containing ammonium. I need some help solving them.

1. Ferrous ammonium sulfate {FeII(NH4)2(SO4)2} and Sodium Bisulfite form a yellow-ish tan-red-orange complex. My initial thought was the bisulfite stimulated the decomposition of the Ferrous Ammonium Sulfate to Diamminetetraaquairon(II) Sulfate, But I'm not entirely sure...

2.Ferric Ammonium Sulfate {FeIII(NH4)(SO4)2} and Sodium Thiosulfate. This reaction, at least in the concentrations I did it in, was very cool. As Thiosulfate is poured into the iron double salt, a deep black-brown or extremely deep red complex is formed, but as it is poured, the complex disappears as its made, turning back to the color of the iron(III) double salt. If enough is poured in at once, it all changes that color, but fades back to it's original color.

Any Ideas on what these complexes could be?
Thanks!
Nathan
