Electroless Nickel Plating
[This topic seem suited for this forum since it's halfway trough electroplating]
Has anybody ever heard of electroless nickel plating? What is the composition of the solution? All I can find is that it's a Nickel/Phosphorous alloy,
but no in detail compostion of the solution. Anybody has any info/paper on that?

I gratefully thank you for the linké
Electroless nickel plating (From a Meeting of the American Society for Testing and Materials, ASTM Special Technical Publication No. 265)
ASTM, Philadelphia, PA 1959.
and
Electroless deposition of metals and alloys (From the 172nd Meeting of The Electrochemical Society, Honolulu, Oct. 1987, ECS Proceedings, Vol. 88-12)
M. Paunovic and I. Ohno (Ed), ECS, Pennington, NJ 1988.
would be interesting, the other are either redundant or only say: electroless is good for you, find somebody to do it.

Be careful with the sodium hypophosphite. In many countries in the world this is a so-called list I chemical, and as such it is highly watched and
suspect. Sodium phosphite in fact is quite benign and not dangerous at all, but apparently it is an important precursor for meth-cooks and that's why
it is so suspect. This makes me mad .

This is a very comprehensive text on electroless nickel:
http://www.ias.ac.in/sadhana/Pdf2003JunAug/Pe1104.pdf
I once obtained some plating using magnesium hypophosphite instead of sodium hyphosphite.
Hope this helps.
