Chem Final

Hi Chem Geniuses!
Im trying to finish up writing up my chem final :[

My chem final has been issued already as follows:

"Put 10 mL of 1M copper (II) chloride solution in a test tube. Put 10 mL of 1M copper (II) sulfate solution in another test tube. Put a 2 cm length of recently cleaned, bright copper wire in each solution. Why did only one of the wires become coated with a deposit?"

I already finished the experiment last week. The copper wire developed a deposit in the copper (II) cloride solution and stayed the same when placed in the copper (II) sulfate solution.

Can somebody please tell me why the copper wire was coated only whne placed in the copper (II) cloride silution and not in the copper (II) sulfate solution?

and also, what type of equation would this particular reaction be?
