cleaning powders from sintered buchner?
Okay so i know that the best way to clean nasty stuff from the sintered glass buchner. But what if i was doing an extraction and wanted to keep the
solid powder after the filtration? is there a way to get all the powder/solid that is left on the filter without having to scrape it?

It's usually pretty easy to gently scrape almost all of the powder from a glass frit, isn't it? Is there a reason why you can't scrape it?

Maybe some solvent might dissolve this mystery 'nasty stuff/solid powder' that you 'might be' extracting. If we had more information we 'might' be
able to help..................

Don't scratch too hard because you can damage the frit, wash it with various solvents you believe will dissolve the powder, and finally move to a
base/acid bath (be careful with organics and baths containing any nitric acid) to remove of any remnants.

risk scraping and damaging it.

That kind of defeats the purpose of using a sintered funnel in the first place, as you usually use one with something that is incompatible with paper.
(For example chromic oxide suspended in concentrated sulfuric acid). Thus when you want to keep the powder it is almost always better to use just a
regular Buchner funnel.
