Nitrocellulose in blastung caps?

I dont really want to deal with anything like mercury fulminate or TATP in my caps, so I was wondering if nitrocellulose would be sufficient to detonate dynamite, which in turn would detonate RDX? And would it need any oxidizers, or maybe extra thick casing?

I am almost absolutely convinced that you are the RDX never manufactured. And I think that you are not manufactured or anything else. Draw only knowledge of the theory. The last question is the proof. You can produce RDX, and you can not make a detonator? It does not go together. A few a day old registration? What are you? Jerk from the NSA? Which looking for active profiles on S- madess? That is the only explanation. Dr.

Gemlingur, NC is problematic since it's difficult to compress to high enough density!

The other thing is it requires the strong confinement a steel tube provides!

Googling "nped detonator" might give you some better ideas ...

For his sake i hope he was joking, although he was onto something. I have made rdx tho, but then again, im not really an officially educated chemist, and even though making explosives is really stupid, im actually trying to educate myself about the matter rather than just rushin in and blowing my hands up.

Hissingnoise, you too must be a jerk from the NSA so GTFO.
JK, it's not uncommon for people to be paranoid nowadays.

Yeah I think my plan will be to try and get the nitrocellulose as nitrated as possible, get it fine, try to maximize its burn rate, and detonate a ETN charge with it if I can. Or maybe I can detonate the ETN without the NC, I´m currently looking into that matter

Making some odd ball det, is far more dangerous then making a conventional proper one with well understood mechanisms and performance.

So if avoiding losing body parts you are going about it wrong.

First learn safety some simple physics, chemistry in general then play with this stuff.

Try harder. Do some searches for pre existing related threads on this site, use google, and ADD SOME REFERENCES. You lazy bugger.

Rapopart’s Rules for critical commentary:

1. Attempt to re-express your target’s position so clearly, vividly and fairly that your target says: “Thanks, I wish I’d thought of putting it that way.”
2. List any points of agreement (especially if they are not matters of general or widespread agreement).
3. Mention anything you have learned from your target.
4. Only then are you permitted to say so much as a word of rebuttal or criticism.

Anatol Rapoport was a Russian-born American mathematical psychologist (1911-2007).
