Aquarium Tank uses - ideas?
I have the opportunity to get what looks like a nice 10 gallon glass aquarium and wanted to know what cool things might be done with it. Would it
work well for a Chlor-alkali cell? or maybe for chlorate/perchlorate production?

, IMHO http://www.sciencemadness.org/talk/viewthread.php?tid=20967#...
I may be wrong, but I am sure aquarium glass is not comparable to borosilicate.

Electrolysis of -- well lots of possibilities.
Grow some enormous crystals. Might take a year or two but will be a good project.
Get some sulfur hexafluoride or xenon and demonstrate an aluminium foil boat floating on what looks like nothing. Take a video and upload to Youtube.
Use it as a reservoir for cooling water for your distillations.
Put some fish in it.

A large cloud chamber for the detection of charged particles, X-rays, and gamma rays.
Easy to do and amazing to watch. I did one a few years ago with a small perspex aquarium.
Makes great videos too.

RogueRose, I have one just about the same size. I use mine as a drying box. Put a plexiglass cover on it with weather stripping and a container of
calcium chloride inside. Nice and easy to see through. Not much to look at, kind of a boring use, but it does work good. Also nice and cheep, the
only thing I had to purchase was the weather stripping, everything else was what other people were throwing out.
