Reagent clearing
Hi guys,
I'm going to start selling the rest of my reagents, I'm retiring from chemistry.
I'll populate this list with time (just going off the top of my head now):
~100 mL DIPEA
~400mL Acetophenone
~500mL Sulfuric Acid
I have some platinum and nickel catalysts. I think silver nitrate as well.
Does anyone know if I can legally ship something like sulfuric acid?
More to come.
I also have ~50 mL of "Sassafras oil" which I'm uncertain if its real or not.
~50 mL of some "acacia oil" no idea what it constitutes of

If you can state where you are, that is helpful, as well as some ball park figure on the pricing.
It is possible to ship sulfuric acid legally, but not easy or cheap. I would not bother. The DIPEA can only be shipped legally in under 35 ml
amounts as a small sample (properly sealed and such) unless properly labelled and packaged as a corrosive. The solids should be save to ship. I
would go UPS or FedEx, the USPS is very picky about chemicals, and shipping almost anything can be a pain or illegal.

Hey Dr Bob, I've actually bought most of my glassware from you.
Unfortunately I'm from California.
Thanks for the info.
My pricing will be very fair, it's more the shipping people need to be worried about. That will likely be the most expensive

I'm more worried that you're retiring from Chemistry with so few reagents !
This weekend i hope to rebuild my shed/lab as it has been flooded with mud a few times, wrecking the floor.
An 'issue' is where to put all of the Stuff while that happens.
My wife suggested a Skip, although i'm not sure if she was joking or not, probably the latter.

Your wife has her horses. You have your shed. Fair is fair.
Besides, you are already giving up something at the moment. I think you can make a good case for nothing going into the skip.
[pretending of course that a good case ever made a difference when one's wife has an opinion]
