new compounds for making hobby chemicals
i was wondering about cleavage of some common organic molecules from everyday food and wanted to get your options on cleavage of molecules. The most
interesting which i couldn't find is the same as curcumin but 3,4 dimethoxy lated on both ends and 2 double bonds and twin ketone, ozone cleavage of a
molecule like that could leave 200% benzaldehyde/benzoic acid per molecule
There are a whole lot more buy its very late and i need to sleep. can people let me know if this hobby has been pressured,ignored or deemed unworthy
of further investigation.

Piperine can be base hydrolyzed into piperidine and piperic acid which is something fun to do after extracting the piperine from black peppers.

And after this you could oxadise the piperic Acid to piperonal and oxalic acid with potassiumpermanganate.

You could do that, however most things done afterwards might go downhill quickly and get you arrested.

In what way are these compounds 'New' ?
