Sesquicarbonates


I am lost for a sodium Sesquicarbonate syth, will combining equimolar amounts of sodium bicarbonate and carbonate in a aqueous solution than crystallising without boiling.

Both sodium carbonate and bicarbonate have strong dependencies of solubility on temperature. An equimolar mixture of both salts at say 60 C, respecting solubility limits at that temperature, should have the sesquicarbonate crystallise out on cooling.

Determine CO2 content of the product to see if it is in accordance with Na3H(CO3)2·2H2O, by weighing CO2 loss on treatment with acid.
