Fridge compressor tipped over, lines cut

Fluid and gas came out when I cut the lines, If the compressor lost its oil, can I still use it for a rinky dink vacuum source?

So here are some pictures of my vacuum pump, How exactly do I connect it to an extension cord. I have so many wires, any advice would be tremendously appreciated

I have a blue wire, a black wire to the left of it

then a red, green, and white wire

also there is another component, which I recently took off the side of the fridge, I believe It had wires connecting to it. it is shown below

here is a picture of things into there original positions a bit,

the red lines are marking leads that have not been connected

20150208_105357.jpg - 1.2MB

the white wire and blue wire seem to go to that box, what is that little box called is that the relay? And in what order do they connect to this box?

it seems after these 2 wires would be connected all that would be left would be the power red/white/green

there is however a lead that has a red line running to it, I'm not sure what connect at this lead

Well it looks like I was able to get my pump working! It seems to slowly build up suction, it doesn't have massive suction all at once.

I'm not sure if I used the right wire nuts for this gauge wire, but it seems to be holding. Would the best way be to solder the wires, and then throw heat shrink tubing over it? My wiring looks a little skiwompous, I'm wondering if there is some sort of junction box I could use. Also, where all the wires connect to the pump come disconnected easily, I wish it would stay connected or in a box somehow

How can I regulate the vacuum levels? cheaply
How can I read the vacuum levels? cheaply

There is a thread on this forum that has addressed all of your questions, as well as the viability of using such a set up.

In the shortest way of putting this... It's not a good idea to pursue.

There are too many issues that just don't add up to a good design. Scroll down thru this thread, and you will find a young mans video of the issues.

Any ideas as to how to adjust the output vacuum?

Would this create enough vacuum to shatter glass, or rip filter paper into the Büchner funnel,/boil or something similar?

Could it boil water at room temperature? I know about phase diagrams, but I don't know how to use this for filtrations

All of those questions are answered in that thread I posted for you. Plus some you haven't thought of yet.

It's a good thread well worth reading. As a matter of fact it is the thread that led me to this site a few weeks ago.
I am also in the process of building a vacuum pump, and the info I found changed the direction I was heading (same as you are pursuing)

Go thru the thread. It will help you.
