STEM radio show!
I am slated to have a radio show at our local campus radio station, KSDT. Most of what I will cover will be science and technology, and I would like
to feature some Sciencemadness members on the show.
If you would like to be featured on this show, please let me know. I need plenty of show ideas!
People I'd be particularly interested in hearing from:
Polverone
woelen
MrHomeScientist
Praxichys
blogfast25
DraconicAcid
kristofvagyok
careysub
TheChemiKid
Anyone who has had their lab raided.
Also, I've posted a notice to the Rador Labs Skype group, if any of you members haven't seen it yet.
I would also appreciate ideas for topics if you have any. Most material that pertains to Sciencemadness will probably be quick glosses over projects
currently in progress, as well as some discussion of societal issues affecting hobby chemistry. I will also be covering similar things in amateur
astronomy, and I will also try to get a few professors in the building for interviews, if at all possible.
Also, if you make music (I'm eyeing you Tdep) I'll feature it on the show.
The station's site is http://ksdt.ucsd.edu/

Right now there are technical issues as the main computer that broadcasts the live stream is down. Check back and you just might hear it.
I don't know my time slot yet, so I can't yet tell you when to tune in.

Oh dear...is this radio show going to be a beacon illuminating the suppression of science in society?

I can be on if you want, but I don't have much idea of what to discuss.
Please remember: "Filtrate" is not a verb.
Write up your lab reports the way your instructor wants them, not the way your ex-instructor wants them.

I'm still working on things to cover. I know you've worked abroad so that may be an interesting topic to bring up. Also, any research that you've
worked on, or what it's like to work on "the tiniest college campus ever."
Anyone who can think of interesting threads to cover, please post them here.
Apparently my time slot is scheduled from 1400-1500 Pacific Time on Saturdays, but that's inconvenient for me, so I'll try for a different one.
And can a mod title this thread "STEM radio show?" It's a bit better.

Would this be done through Skype or something similar? My home computer won't run such things...

I can do a spiel on undergraduate research, but I'd have to plan it out first.

I could talk about my YouTube channel and/or the STEM outreach I do at my job, if you don't have specific topics in mind. Depends on the day and time,
though, since we're on opposite sides of the country. Is it Skype, written submission, or what? Congrats on getting a show!

It's going to be a Skype in event, but I'll cover stuff in threads and other material produced by SM members.
You can add me on Skype as Brain&Force.

My time slot is currently in Mondays from 1900-2000 Pacific Time. Sorry European chemists, but Aussies take note!
Note that I'll try to get an even better time slot for everyone. What works?

Radio Show
Brain&Force,
Sounds like a great program. I wish you luck with this.
As owner of a chemical and lab supplies company, we could discuss the difficulties that the home chemists are having in obtaining chemicals. Some of
the most obvious issues are legal/regulatory, cost, and convenience. Perhaps there are some things we as a group could do to improve the situation.
Let me know if this topic would be of interest.
Thx.
Tom

I will not be present in the show by voice, but I give you permission to use material, such as pictures, videos, descriptions of experiments, from my
website, from posts on sciencemadness and if you have questions, then I certainly am willing to help you (if I can). You may also refer to me as
sciencemadness user, the website or more in general to show a possible way of doing home chemistry (I do not say that my way of doing home chemistry
is THE way, I think it is a nice way of doing it, but there certainly are other nice ways, e.g. look at Magpie's achievements, or the weird compounds
investigated by AxeHandle).

Absolutely! If you have Skype, add me to your contacts, and I will give you a spot on whatever show you'd like. (The next one is open, so if you're
willing to do a show next Monday, feel free!) It'll be an interview, mostly, and the questions shouldn't be too complex. I'll try to send them to you
in advance.

Interesting to listen to. You mentioned people joining in the discussion? ( in text, i mean) Is that via Skype or the KSDT website?

I had my lab confiscated, I think it happened in a rather perplexing manner, I'd be happy to share more. When Bfesser left he deleted our rather
detailed discussion about it.

New show tonight, but there won't be much amateur chemistry content in it.
APO, I never saw your post, if you can add me on Skype, I can schedule you for the 24th. Rador Labs members, be prepared to Skype in that same day - I
want to dedicate that day to amateur chemistry.

I think 1900 is a bit too late for me, I'll have to wait until you get a different time slot.
