Re: Possible Hacking Of Members' Accounts.

At 1.14 a.m. GMT today, 10th April, I received an unsolicited email, purporting to be from Sciencemadness Discussion Board at gfxlist@yahoo.com, saying "This is an automatic e-mail. Yourself, or someone has requested your password to be resent to you, your details are below.
JohnWW [password] "

However, the password given in this message was quite different from the one I chose when originally registering, and certainly not one that I would have chosen even if I wanted to change it. And I did NOT, the, request that my password be resent to me. In order to log on again today, my original password did not work, and I had to use the new password emailed to me.

It therefore appears that the board has been hacked. Has anyone else experienced something similar recently?

The board hasn't been hacked...

The forgot-password feature can be abused to reset your password, if you have an email-adress, which is visible for all. Link: Polverone's post this problem.
