redox active ligands
Hello everyone,
I have been fortunate enough to have the chance to do some undergrad research on homogeneous catalyst for hydrosilations and hydrogenations. I don't
actually begin for a few months, but I thought I would read up on the subject in my down time.
Is anyone familiar with this subject? I am curious about the different ligands used in this type of chemistry. So far the only ligands I have seen are
tridentate derivatives of 2,6-diacetylpyridine. Are there any other commonyl used ligands? Also I have seen a few examples where the aryl group on the
imine has a few subsitutions, but what about of the pyridine portion of the molecule? I am curious as to what effect a electron withdrawing or
electron donating substituent would have on the activity of the ligand.
As you can see I don't know very much about the subject, and I am quite eager to learn more. If anyone has any thoughts about the subject, or perhaps
some suggested reading I would appreciate some feedback.
Thanks!
