Chromium trifluoride reaction with sodium metal.

What will happen if i add CrF3 (chromium trifluoride) powder in molten sodium metal.

Shall i get chromium metal and NaF or there will be no reaction.

Yes, those should be the results, but why on earth would you do that? It's such a waste of good sodium, use aluminum with chromium oxide instead if you want Cr metal.

And what do you want with the resulting products? You get an impure mess of Cr and NaF and that is even more problematic waste than CrF3.

If the CrF3 is a nice pure chemical and you really want to get rid of it, then make someone happy with it and offer it for a good price, or even offer it for free (only cost of shipping to be paid by the person who wants the chemical). CrF3 is not a very toxic or corrosive chemical, so shipping of this material should not be a real problem in most countries.
