what is this iron compound?

I tried to make chlorine by adding acetic acid to bleach. somehow no gas evolved.
So i just decided to dropp a piece of steel wool in there. In a few seconds, red stuff started coming from the steel wool. The solution was red and there was a red precipitate as well. What was it? Iron(III) compounds are all red I don't know which one it is.

I imagine it was oxidized to Iron (III) Oxide by the bleach

If you try to make chlorine via acetic acid and bleach, you won't get any gas or at least that's my experience too. But if you mix NaCl, vinegar, and bleach, you will get chlorine gas.

I agree too that the bleach have oxidised the iron to iron(III) oxide, a process perhaps accelerated by the acid to give reddish solution and insoluble solids.
