Ferrous Chloride (FeCl2)
I did not find any information on this while browsing the forums and was hoping that someone would be able to help med. Whilst planning to make
magnetite i first had to aquire an iron(III)salt and choose ferric chloride since i had some hydrochloric acid on hand. I simply poured some acid in a
beaker, added a few grams of steel wool and let it sit with a lid on top just to keep it from getting oxidized by the air, was planning on getting
some iron(II)chloride while at it. The day after that i found that it had reacted, leaving only some insoluble gunk at the bottom. However, the
solution was light blue, kind of like the colour of a dilute copper(II)sulfate solution instead of the expected yellowish colour. Now i was wondering
what this could be due to. Any ideas are appreciated!

You can't seriously be saying that and at the same time expecting nobody will verify if you are saying the truth or no.

Oddly enough, when searching for the term "FeCl2", it doesn't show the ferrous chloride preparation threads. Even though FeCl2 is written in them.
