Best adhesive for hotplate repair?
Hi all,
I've been having some issues with my hotplate lately. The magnets on the stirring apparatus inside of the hotplate fell off, I guess due to the old
age of the adhesive from the manufacturer. So now I am trying to reattach the magnets but I am having trouble finding a good adhesive that can bond
metal to metal and withstand the high temperatures generated within the hotplate. At first I tried contact adhesive, which appeared to create a strong
bond but then it seemed to melt after I reassembled and used the hotplate. Next, I tried silicone adhesive, but it didn't seem cure very well even
after several days of waiting.
Any suggestions for a good adhesive to use for this situation?

There are a number of metal-filled epoxy putties on the market specifically for making repairs that hold at high temperatures. They're marketed for
engine work, typically. JB Weld sells one; there are others. Check the adhesives section at any auto parts retail store.
