To all those in the UK . . .a few hours ago I was in Lidl's, and managed to pick up a liter of xylene isomers for £2.50 as well as some phosphoric
acid for rust removal; at the moment in my local store they are having a big clearout on that kinda stuff and it is really cheap. Sure, a distillation
or recrystallization or two might be needed for some items, but be sure to have a look in your local store next time you're there.

Yea, I saw that and was tempted to buy one. Its meant for cleaning spectacles, watches etc. but they can be useful for cleaning glassware (duh) and
sometimes getting dicky solids to go into solution, as per the video below;
