Copper Aspirinate + NaOH --> ?????
I got copper aspirinate:
Cu(H2CCO2)C6H4CO2
and am adding NaOH to figuer the % composition of copper.. anyone have an idea what the balanced chemical equation would be?
What I have so far:
Cu(H2CCO2)C6H4CO2 +NaOH

Where did you get this idea? This does not seem like a good way of going about things. Among the possible reactions:
Precipitation of copper hydroxide
Hydrolysis of ASA with production of sodium acetate and salicylic acid
Nuetralization of salicylic acid
Formation of copper chelate with salicylic acid
