Iron disulfide (AKA synthetic pyrite)
So I took apart a lithium battery, mostly out of nostalgia, and now I have a black, iron disulfide electrode. A wire mesh of some type is embedded
inside the FeS2.
Anyone have any ideas or uses?
Also I kept, washed and cleaned the clear polymer diaphragm. I can't think of how I'd go about using a very long, narrow diaphragm but I'd love to be
wrong.

You can make a micro-scale electrolytic cell with the diaphragm. Cut the side of a PP vial, for example, and glue the membrane in the hole. I don't
know what is the chemical resistance of the thing but, well, it may serve for some acid-base separation, or even chlorate (who knows).
Edit: Grammar issues.
