Seperation of isoamyl nitrite and isoamyl alcohol from poppers

Obtaining isoamyl nitrite is pretty hard but i've found them to be in a mix with isoamyl alcohol in poppers. Given that they are both insoluble in water how would one go about separating the two? Any solvents I could use to do a liquid separation? Distillation might lead to decomposition as it is sensitive to light and heat.

Maybe react that mixture with NaNO2/HCl to convert all isoamyl alcohol to isoamyl nitrite and distill?

Unfortunately I can't get sodium nitrite.

I didn't know they mixed the two in poppers, but you could react with NaOH to hydrolyze the nitrite to the alcohol and extract the alcohol.

Thanks but I am trying to obtain isoamyl nitrite in the first place, the isoamyl alcohol is what I don't want.

How about (mild) vacuum distillation?

Isoamyl alcohol is actually relatively soluble in water at 2.8 grams / 100 ml of water. Note that after washing out the alcohol with water the isoamyl nitrite may be wet and need drying with MgSO4 or CaO. (Make sure to filter out the solids after drying because CaO will slowly react with the alkyl nitrite to form Ca(NO2)2 and the alcohol.)
