Penicillin synthesis from cys, phe, and val

I've started with cys and used PLP as a the coenzyme. I removed N, leaving it as a carbonyl. Then, I decarboxylated phe. Apparently, I am to have the decarboxylated N from phe attack the carbonyl from cys, but I don't have a carbonyl on cys. What did I miss???
