Looking for new experimental evidence for some EAS mechanisms
In The Art of ... Mechanisms by Robert Grossman, he claims the standard-taught mechanisms for the intermediates involved in EAS nitration and
F-C acetylation have been recently experimentally invalidated. He proposes the (see attached) alternative mechanism for the nitration, for example.
Could someone point me in the right direction of verifying such claims in the literature? Any papers, articles, etc. Thanks.
