Cu(OH)2 what to do with it?
Any ideas what to do with the copper hydroxide?

Some one recommended me making pure Cellulose, in ammonia complex which I can make from concentrated piss...
Any buyers for it? And how much they pay per KG?

With Cu(OH)2 you can make pretty much any copper salt you want.
If you make the ammonia copper(II) complex you can dissolve cellulose. (Death to those cotton balls.) That is always a fun exercise.
pretty much depnds on what you want to do.
[edit]
I should read the existing replies before adding my own.
If you then add the dissolved cellulose to an acidic solution you so indeed get the cellulose to precipitate out again. This is how they make rayon.
Whether it is more pure than the cotton wool or paper towels you started with is arguable. But it is certainly an interesting phenomenen. Produced
in a home lab, the product is not terribly useful or valuable.
Actually, I cannot think of any compounds that are a small number of steps from Cu(OH)2 that have significant value.

Yah, aside from pretty salts for sentimental value, which is fun and cool to do, there isn't much value I would say.
I do suggest making all sorts of copper salts, some nice colours, then get into nickel or whatever other pretty salts you want.

One interesting phenomenon that I have seen is from NurdRage
You can make some CuCl2.
Add it to a conc solution of HCl.
Add a piece of copper.
The Cu2+ ions bind with the Cl- ions.
This has a dark green color.
Cu2+ + 4 Cl- -> CuCl42-
CuCl42- reacts with the solid copper.
This forms a colorless solution.
CuCl42- + Cu + 4 Cl- -> 2 CuCl43-
If oxygen is present, the Cu+ ions oxidize to Cu2+ and so the solution becomes dark green again.
4 CuCl43- + O2 + 4 H+ -> 2 H2O + 4 CuCl42-

Ah yes, hawking
piss-soaked rayon goop throughout Europe. A wonderful idea! I’m sure people will be chomping at the bit to get their hands on that stuff…

Found a use for Cu(OH)2.
It can be dissolved in vinegar, and then copper could be recovered from it with tin.
That way I can remove tin from PCBs and chips before further processing.

Then wash it through the sieve in to 5 liter beaker. To remove copper powder, it'll settle.

I kinda like the piss-soaked rayon goop proposal.
If you called it 'artisanal rayon' it would probably sell in Santa Cruz, CA.

Using citric acid copper salt is better in displacement... Tin Acetates hydrolyses forming a lot of white precipitate... Citrates don't.

Also what I found from my experiments, some thing is coming off out of the beaker with tin acetate as it hydrolyses...
Which makes me nauseous when I sleep in the lab drunk... Reaction of the ethanol in the body and shit that tin acetate releases makes me sick.

Anyone here on the forum ever filtered and washed Cu(OH)2 with a Buchner funnel?
How it filters ??? Fast????
First, best to do is to boil basic KNO3 solution with Cu(OH)2 in it. All copper hydroxides will settle in seconds. Then pour out solution and wash
remaining mud on a Buchner funnel.

Is it possible to wash it to neutral PH?
For example, Stanic acid that drops out when you dissolve solder in nitric acid, is impossible to wash completely from HNO3...
And when you add HCl to dissolve it, all the gold dissolves with it, and colloidal Gold not forming then, so don't really know what valency the Tin is
in.
