Bismuth
I have recently come across some bismuth, and I'd like to play around with it. Of course, I'm going to melt it and see the beautiful reflections that
come off of it. However, I'm looking to use the bismuth for other reactions as well to touch upon my knowledge of the elements.
I was wondering if anyone had anything worth checking out to do with bismuth. I've been thinking about making Pepto-Bismol..
Let me know if you guys have anything juicy to suggest!

AFAIK the chemistry of bismuth is a bit boring. But as a starting point I would go for making a range of salts.
The difficulty you will likely find is a tendency to precipitate out various oxides/hydroxides rather than your target product.
And making those beautiful square crystals is not as easy as you might imagine. You need good timing and temperature control.
But have fun.

Why is it that Bismuth in particular makes it difficult to precipitate out my product?
