Activated carbon filter in fumehood vent ?
I have a vented fumehood and mostly this is sufficient, but when I am working with noxious chemicals, I would like to capture the noxious gases in a
filter and have heard active carbon is a good option.
I have found on the internet how to make activated carbon, but how should I put such a filter (a plastic bottle with holes and a sock with active
carbon in it ?) in the vent ?

You need to work out which of the gases you produce has the least affinity to adsord into activated carbon. Get the required contact time for that
gas. Then design your GAC filter to be in contact with the off gas based on the fumehood extraction rate.
Consider what you plan to do with the GAC once it is spent.

I wouldn't make activated carbon, just buy GAC... It is cheap.
