DO you mean a tank with it in liquid form, my dad does air conditioners so he has lots of tanks of it. Although unless you can get it from a lab supply the easiest way would be to order it from refrigerant suppliers, but you need a license unless you have a friend in the business which could supply you.

The ampoule is rolled on the inner thighs of busty blonde women or bronzed Aussie surfer boys before sending to the client* :D

* Please specify preference on the order form

Seriously it is used as an analytical standard for things like GC - Mass Spec and these things always cost an arm and a leg. If you are assaying for Freons in polar ice the cost of the standards is tiny compared with collection and storage costs, etc.

I work in an analytical lab. With the hourly rate that my time is charged at I would need to be able to make and test that solution in about 15 minutes to compete with just buying it.
I'm good, but I'm not that good.
$52 for 50 mg is quite cheap (there are 5 components so it's 50 mg). It's equivalent to about $1000 per gram.

Some of the standards we make in-house cost the equivalent of millions of dollars per gram.
