Vacuum Calculations


Today I finally got the voltage adaptor for my vacuum pump and turned it on. Not particularly exciting, and from the looks of things suitable neither for reduced pressure distillations (too weak a vacuum) or for acting as the extractor unit in the fume hood I'm building (too little airflow).

The literature claims the pump produces a vacuum of 280mbar of mercury. How would I calculate the boiling point of water at this pressure so I can test the pump experimentally?

Thanks. How do I convert mbar to torr?
