Esterification
I am fasing a problem for esterification of carboxylic acid salt with water sensitive alkyl halide by using PTC. My objective is to avoid Dimethyl
acetamide as solvent.
Can you help me in resolving this riddle.

Yes indeed! - I suggest the use of DCC & alcohol with Cu(I)Cl catalyst to form the isourea, then add to the acid in dichloromethane solvent for
very high yields. It is a common procedure which you can likely find easily; but if you need help with finding references maybe I could look.
It is not exactly what you wanted but maybe it is an easier alternative - or totally inappropriate?!
Best of luck!

Please post questions without providing references only in the Beginnings section. Same goes for questions that are unanswerable due to lack of
information or clarity. I will move this thread there anyway.
Plns, surely you don't expect a useful answer for such a vague question?
Besides, this a forum for amateur chemistry and not a forum for industrial technologists.
