solubility of MeOH in toluene/xylene
2 quick questions...
does anyone know what the solubility of MeOH in toluene/xylene is?
what about the solubility of 50% h2o, 50% MeOH in toluene/xylene... can you expect a small percentage of MeOH to still be in the toluene/xylene?

Methanol, and also ethanol, when anhydrous, is usually infinitely miscible in all proportions with low molecular weight hydrocarbons, including
toluene and xylenes. However, there are two-phase regions in the ternary systems if water is introduced. Perrys Chemical Engineers Handbook has phase
diagrams for some such ternary systems.
