Interesting uses for Eriochrome Black T?
I have just bought 25g of Eriochrome Black T.
I understand this is used to detect the presence of Ca and Mg ions but are there any other intersting uses other than those?
thanks,

You havent shown any attempt at finding out for yourself. A quick wikipedia search yeilds another use and I'm sure google will show up a load more if
you bothered looking.

I have actually tried to look however as i said all i found is analysis and detection of metals.
I wanted to find out if there were any old school uses for it. Ie, breaking of the N=N yielding napthalene compounds.

I bought some, along with some NaEDTA, specifically to do quantitative analyses of metals. But I guess that is not very interesting.
