References, obviously... Academic literature citations, which generally need a paid account or subscription to view (often available to students on
campus accounts). Hence the need for a forum specifically to collect them.
As with the Whimsy forum, security is moderate, just PM someone in the know.

That's inaccurate.
You must be an active participant in the forum, and you can only legitimately obtain pw for references (or Whimsy) from a moderator such as Nicodem or
Polverone.
Those who manage to obtain pw by any other means are generally not accorded much of a welcome in References.
