Hello dlog.

It would be helpful if you could post the 'recipies' that you tried, i.e. weights, volumes, concentrations etc.

24hrs has not done much with that mix.

The gold plating does appear to have been attacked a little, but hardly enough to make it useful.

deltaH's recipe worked much better.

Hello Aga
I post a phot of it later. The Board is refusing to upload a 1Mb file.
I think they use another oxidazing agent like HNO3 or NaClO or something like this.

If you read the entire thread you'll see that gold was successfully dissolved in a known mixture.

Better to start there and improve on that formula by experimentation.

A lot of 'papers' and patents are total bollocks.

I have been playing in this area for a while now and to be honest, unless you have access to tonnes (literally) of FREE scrap, and free chems, you are wasting your time. it may be viable at a large scale if you can get up to about 7 grams per tonne, but I would be lucky to have a 2mm bead after tens of hours cutting up and sorting etc, let alone the cost of reagents. on the up side I have enough basic copper carbonate to last a lifetime.
