That would be nice, but he hasn't been active in months.
If he had been, I would have definitely U2U'd him about the synthesis. If I am successful with it, I will post pictures here and in pretty pictures.

Sounds good. I thought he was more active than that, I didn't realize he'd been gone for like half a year... I hope HE's OK. He's the one (along with
BromicAcid and Oelen) that convinced me to join SM.

Now more than a year after expressing interest in this synthesis, I finally got around to actually doing it, and I made a video of it for my channel:

I mainly followed the procedure from the OP, except I use ammonium molybdate as the catalyst rather than boric acid, and forego the dissolution in
concentrated sulfuric acid. I do use the acetone wash that UC235 uses in his video, though, and like him I am able to extract a yellow impurity that
is soluble in acetone but not in water.
