You could at least explain what you mean by "simple method"? And for what batch size? And if you mean simpler than how it's done in industry? Simpler
than fractionating with a distillation column? I doubt anybody can help you unless you describe more precisely what do you want and what you have
access to.
If it is only for a small amount of diesel oil then UTFSE for gasoline nitration. There were at least two threads discussing the subject. If it is for
a large batch then I'm afraid the simplest way is the industrial method.
…there is a human touch of the cultist “believer” in every theorist that he must struggle against as being
unworthy of the scientist. Some of the greatest men of science have publicly repudiated a theory which earlier they hotly defended. In this lies their
scientific temper, not in the scientific defense of the theory. - Weston La Barre (Ghost Dance, 1972)

From homemade raw mint? Too much work. Or did you mean homemade from R.A.W - Robert Anton Wilson? He's not dead yet, so that is a rather cruel thing
to do.
A) Buy it. Dearmomatized kerosene is close, unless you're actually running an engine.
B) United States Patents 6835301, 6824673, 6451198, and 6814856 sound like good starting points. Also see

dearomatization of diesel oil
Aromatics in diesel oil can be removed by extraction with an appropriate solvent. One example is liquid SO2 (this is the solvent used in industry, but
on a small scale I guess it's not "easy" to use it). Another solvent which is used on a large scale is diethyleneglycol. I guess you could use this
one to repeatedly extract aromatics (benzene, toluene and xylenes) out of diesel oil.

IIRC DMSO is also used as an extraction solvent.
