I wrote an article about the introduction to shaped charges. It is about 54,000 words (in Chinese). Since the lossless version is too large to send,
this is the compressed version. The file size has also increased after translation, so I can only send the Chinese version. You can use Google
Translate to translate it. The lossless version can be found in Z library by searching "聚能装药入门"

The copper insert looks very nice and accurate. And the filling was what if it's not a secret? ... Colorized PETN/ ETN ?

If you are referring to the picture I published in
March this year, the filler is PETN plastic explosive. If you are referring to Chapter 4 of the article I wrote, it is also PETN plastic explosive,
using 5%PIB 5%DOS and oil 0.1% red pigment. However, the plastic explosive in Chapter 4 of the article has a higher density because the PETN crystals
are more rounded.

Beautiful symmetrical liner there.
What kind of densities were you pulling with the PIB binder and dioctyl sebacate plasticizer?
I've been trying to find DOS or DOA but it's hard to find in small quantities.

Thanks, PLSHY . You use even dioctylsebakate...Almost profi mixture and device......

I've been trying to find DOS or DOA but it's hard to find in small quantities. | 1.58g/cc I have mentioned it
in my article. I hope you can put it into Google Translate and take a look. This is my hard work. I think this article is much greater than my shape
charge experiment.

[Edited on 25-11-2024 by PLSHY] | The theoretical maximum density of this mixture is 1.60g/cc, and 1.58 is
quite good. But I think the high density is mainly due to the petn crystal. DOS will only improve the feel and plasticity I used acetone to dissolve
petn, then slowly cooled and crystallized it while stirring, forming round and large crystals. Another batch of plastic explosives I prepared used
acetone directly mixed with water. Although DOS was also added, the density was only 1.50 and the plasticity was not that good. These contents are all
written in my article

I will download it and translate and have a read of it .
1.58 g/cm³ is great work. I could only get around 1.47g/cm³ at best when using PETN based plastic for EFP's. I was using polybutene as the binder
and methyl ricinoleate as the plasticizer with a bit of motor oil to soften it up. I believe it was like 15% inerts in the final composition.
I dissolved the PETN in acetone and then slowly poured into ice water which was rapidly stirred which did result in much better product but not 100%
ideal. Slower pouring would have afforded better quality crystals and a higher end density probably. The density of the explosive is an extremely
important factor for any shaped charge.

Hello PLSHY, I've used google translate and recompressed it to fit as an attachment for you. I haven't had a chance to read it yet (frankly I can't
remember the last time I've read 160 pages of anything), but it looks like an incredible work. Can I ask what was the purpose of this work? Is it just
a hobby or part of your studies?
EDIT: Haha, I just read the conclusion " No matter how strong your technical skills are, all you can do is send your results to a
group
chat and pray for praise from others to fill your empty soul." It's an obsession and a hobby I got it.

[Edited on 25-11-2024 by Axt] | Shaped charge is my hobby. I am a Chinese student. Chinese students are under
great academic pressure. We only have one day off on weekends and school ends at 10:30 every night.
But we have 1 month and 2 months off in January and July respectively.
This article took me a year of free time for experiments and 104 hours for editing.
