Yellowing MEK/Butanone

Anyone has problem with their MEK yellowing with age?

According to the patent below, citric acid, among others, can be added at very low ppm to stabilise the ketone. Isn't citric acid fairly acidic, would it cause aldo condensation?

I am thinking of distilling my yellow hardware store MEK, but I wouldn't want it to slowly turn yellow again ...

an acid inhibitor makes sense, as bases in contact ketones tend to form a complicated mixture of brown/yellow garbage.
