Large Scale Iron Oxide Synthesis
I have recently finished a large scale synthesis of iron oxide, which is shown in this Video:
https://youtu.be/H7yhAggdtF8
However I had several problems with it, so maybe someone right here has some ideas how to improve this.
Here are the worst problems:
First of all the precipitate of iron oxide is very voluminous. Is there a good way to precipitate the iron oxide, so you get a more crystalline form,
that you can filter directly?
Also does anybody have any ideas how to dehydrate the iron oxide hydroxide on a large skale without making an incredible mess? The problem is that the
water vapour takes some of the iron oxide dust with it into the air.
Any help would be very much appreciated!

I think the quick solution to both problems would be to allow it to completely air-dry, then sift into a thick steel can and heat in an open fire to
drive off moisture/carbon/sulfur contaminants.
