Anyone have a hotplate/stirrer they could part with?
Hey folks, I’m looking for a stirrer/hotplate and I don’t want to buy a new cheap Chinese model. If anyone has an extra used Corning or whatever
other workhorse brand they could sell to me at a discount I would deeply appreciate it. Doesn’t have to be aesthetically pleasing. My only
preference is that it has a small form factor. Digital would be great... a temp sensor would be even better, but probably out of my price range.
Let me know if you have anything! Id be happy to pay in any method. Thanks guys.

You should give some Idea where you are.
Not much point in some guy in Ironbridge Gorge or Wolverhampton offering you a cheap mantle if you're in Alice Springs (the town, not the retired porn
star).
Also, by temp sensor, do you mean like a probe that goes in the flask, or just a thermostatic heat control on the heating surface?

SWIM, thanks for the tip! I’m in CA. And by temp sensor I mean a thermometer connected to the unit that is inserted into the liquid for more precise
temp control.

Nurdrage made a video on making your own temperature sensor (PT-1000 I think) for hotplate that support sensors. The sensors sold by manufacturers are
very expensive (hundreds $) but you can buy cheap PT-1000 probes.
