Building a furnace

Im not too sure if this post belongs here, but seeing I have never built a furnace I would assume it best be in the beginner section. But anyways, I was wondering if anyone can help me or maybe instruct me on how I can begin constructing a furnace (i.e. what I may need). I did a seach and found some stuff one electric furnaces and arc furnaces, but i was just looking for a normal (perhaps gas powerd) furnace. At the very least tell me what not to do :P.

Well, you can peruse Technochemistry first of all. Then you can Google for a while and find places like my website and backyardmetalcasting.com and abymc.com where furnaces are made for melting metal.

On the matter of charcoal furnaces - see this thread.
Please continue posting there, or the threads you already mentioned.
