Any melbourne based members need any glass
i just bought a very large auction lot, actually it was the contents of a lab and small factory. The gentleman running the former factory was ex CSIRO
so everything is quite fancy (i'm not saying he swiped his glassware before he left his job, perhaps working at CSIRO simply informed his purchasing
decisions).
Anyway I'm not going eBay or labx the excess glass, in my experience i'm awful at it (as in it does not get done), instead ill sell the lot to tech
trader or something, however before i sell it for almost nothing if any melbourne based members need/want something send us a pm detailing what you
want and what you want to pay for it. i'd rather not have to post but i could be convinced.
If five people are interested i guess i could hack up a list of items.
It would read something like this
200ml rb's single neck 150 of
200ml rbs 2 neck 30of
200rbs 3 neck 10 of
etc
There is a shitload of stuff
everything is schott or quick fit
there are an unusually large number of large beakers (3,5l)
there are no sep funnels
Anyway pm me or reply.
Also if anyone wants a 25kg bag of sodium metabisulphite i have 15 to swap for a six pack or two (of beer)
Alsoagain Anyone got any good ideas of what to do with nickel sulphate and nickel carbonate. The former is shockingly toxic, and without reducing to
the metal have little scrap value and i have 50kgs of both.

Not in Melbourne but interested. I think TheAussieChemist will also be interested - he lives nearby and I am meeting up with him soon. Are you up to
packing and posting some?
I'll message you properly soon.
Apart from rbfs, what other items are there? And what joint size were they working with?

In Vic myself so a trip to Melbourne to pick up is not too much trouble.
I too would be interested in some of the nickel sulphate if you're selling any.
If you could get a list of what is available put together that would be fantastic. Some 500 / 1000 ml rbfs with preferably 24/29 joints are what I'd
be most keen on getting at the moment but other items at the right price would also certainly tempt me too.

if i must
think of a CSIRO glassware storeroom, sans sep funnels (there were a few), but smaller, it currently fills three bedrooms in my home
joint sizes mainly b24, 29, 34. very little larger
absolutely selling the nickel, actually i should make a chemical list as there is about 4T of chemicals (some absolute treasures, an unopened 10kg tin
of bayer chromic acid, a 4L cylinder of H2S!, 20kg KI and the fine chemicals sixteen tubs of stuff, i have yet to go through it all)
ill put aside a few 500/1000ml b29 round bottoms, the 500's may be flat bottomed.
i should mention some of the better interesting things
if anyones a dmt head theres a 4L and a 1L flanged soxhlet, double surface coiled condenser setup.
theres a 10L and 8L dropping funnel/sep funnel
lots of heavy walled socketed, quickfit (as in factory) erlenmeyer in 250, 500. 1L and 2L
ill try and make some sort of a list tomorrow.

Ok, I've just organised a large sale lot with someone who's coming up later in the week. So basically im not making a list of the glass, at least not
until they have been.
Warteo i'll keep some of the rbf's aside you mentioned and hope to hear from you when you get the chance, anyone else just pm specifics and ill get
back to you.
The chemicals i will make a ist of as i really need to deal with them one way or another (Melbourians will know i have many options, Port Phillip,
Western Port, Corio....lol, i am joking)

While they are not exactly local, I suppose you have heard of http://www.chemicalrecycling.com.au in Queensland? I've never googled for anything Victorian, but there may be a similar setup somewhere I
suppose...

What a hideous website. It took me ages to find the AZctual lists of chems.
Few of us are in the market for hundreds of kg and there is no indication of prices. A lot of quite specialised feedstocks. Not sure this is that
useful.

um, just a suggestion for Panache to offload his 50kg Nickel Sulphate / 50kg Nickel Carbonate, plus any other vast quantities of weird and wonderful
things he seems to have stocked up on.

Agree. Hideous website. I have never dealt with / have any connection with, just thought it might be useful.

I'm in Sydney and if you can post, be interested in any b14 & 29/32 flasks. Be they round, flat, conical, etc. Also stoppers, bottles, even the
soxlet setup.
